Ian Griffin’s journey as an author began with a profound desire to spin captivating tales that encompass the lives of intriguing characters. His writing finds its roots in the influences that have shaped his life and craft. Growing up in East Texas, his deep connection to his home state resonates throughout his work. Influences from his family, his military service, and the allure of exploration mixed with the weight of war’s impact all contribute to the profound tapestry of his storytelling. Ian likes to say, “I am simply an old soldier who relishes writing about the complexities of life.” 

His debut novel, The Birth of a Spy Couple, served as the first installment in the thrilling Rick and Katja series, captivating readers with its blend of adventure and intrigue. Following the success of his debut, Ian released 33 or 9 as the second book in the series, leaving readers hungry for more. Ian followed up with the multi-award-winning Betrayal from Within, which was featured on the NASDAQ in Times Square for The Bookfest award. Later, Ian would release the fourth installment of the series with Ascend From The Ashes. 

Ian is not just a spy novelist, but he also enjoys writing Southern Romantic Historical Fiction. His first non-spy novel, The Story of Briar, received 13 literary awards and was featured on the NASDAQ in Times Square for winning The Bookfest award. He followed it up with another standalone book, Trash Can Terry, which was featured on the I Love NY marquee. Later, Ian would release The Widow’s Savior. A who-done-it set in East Texas. This incredible work received 16 literary awards. 

Recently, Ian released Born in the Aftermath, Humble Origins, Book 1. A precursor to the Rick and Katja series, which follows the man, Franz, who recruited them to be spies, 

Ian is currently on a new project called Wrench Turner that will complement his standalone works and will personify his mantra of writing about the complexities of life.
